This week catapulted our farm crew from our slower winter schedule into the grind of spring as we handled veggies and spent time in the warm greenhouse. We talked about what was to come for the season, varieties we are planting; a return to golden beets, new magenta carrots, a new cabbage that is perfect for sauerkraut. At the same time, we recalled the moments when we harvested the beets back in October; amazed at how long the lasted, tucked in our coolers, dormant for winter.
So tomorrow, we head out to the greenhouse to welcome our winter share members for our last pick-up with the last of the goods from our 2012 season. With this we head into March and our 2013 season begins!
Look in your mail in early march (around March 7th) for this season's registration to save your spot in the CSA! You won't want to miss those glowing beets and stunning carrots! And, if you want to say hello and catch a glimpse of Powisset in Winter, come visit us at the farm tomorrow!
